One Piece: Kaizoku Musou is climbing its way up PlayStation 3’s top five. The game has sold over 900,000 units in Japan and Asia as of March 15, Namco Bandai CEO Shin Unozawa told Nikkei, and is on its way to over 1,000,000 sales.
This week’s Media Create Sales figures reveals at least 745,907 of those sales are from Japan.
However, the One Piece title is but one of Namco Bandai’s recent success stories.
Tales of Xillia, launched in Japan and Asia for PlayStation 3 in September, has reached 760,000 sold.
Dark Souls, launched internationally in October for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (PlayStation 3-only in Japan), has sold over 1.6 million units worldwide. 400,000 copies were sold in Japan.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS, launched in Japan and Asia for PlayStation 3 in December, has topped 600,000 units.
According to Unozawa, the PlayStation 3 market is not as strong as the PS2 market was, but it has been able to establish itself.
