BioShock Infinite: Meet the Motorized Patriot

A clockwork George Washington.

Irrational Games has revealed the first of BioShock Infinite‘s heavy-hitter class of enemies. Modeled after our first president George Washington, meet the Motorized Patriot, a clockwork simulation equipped with a vicious Gatling gun.

“Unlike most of the enemies, he’s completely fearless,” Irrational boss Ken Levine told X-Play, who has the exclusive reveal. “He doesn’t have a sense of self-preservation, so he’ll just keep coming at you and coming at you.”

His gun is called a pepper-mill. Once destroyed, players can pick up and use the gun. Defeating a Motorized Patriot is the only way to get the gun – you won’t find it anywhere else.

“These are enemies that are used to not just be more powerful, but to augment the abilities of the more traditional BioShock enemies,” Levine said. “You’re going to come across them in certain areas of the game, and they’re going to provide a really unique challenge.”

BioShock Infinite is due for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 16 in North America and worldwide on October 19.
