If it is, he's (probably) Native American.

If this key artwork of Assassin’s Creed III sent in to Kotaku by a Best Buy worker – supposedly snapped from their employee news section – is legitimate, then the long-awaited threequel to the series may just be set during the American Revolution.

The image shows a new assassin standing against a Continental American flag backdrop. He is wearing an 18th-century military jacket, and appears to be Native American. He is also carrying a tomahawk.

Earlier today, the official Assassin’s Creed Facebook teased a “major announcement” only “days away,” and added to keep an eye on the game’s official site tomorrow for “more details.” It also made this image its cover photo, accompanied with the text, “With Julián Auditore and Valley Forge.”

Though not yet officially announced (and by that, we’re talking by means of a press release), Ubisoft confirmed Assassin’s Creed III for an October 30 release earlier this month.

We’ll mail Ubisoft for comment.

    That looks rather sweet…

However, if the guy’s name is Julian Auditore, he’d only be half Native American…

Updated the image. Full body shot!

I remember reading the rumors about how it might be set in the American Revolution.

I find this very interesting. It could also allow for new types of gameplay, considering the era.

I still need to finish the new dlc and watch the animated embers film. I want to be ready for the new game. :)

@Zero: We missed those rumors. :(

I’ve got to create a tips e-mail address for this site!

I’ll try and remember to use it if you do. If I think I’ve found something worthwhile. ^^

Is he both American/British and Native American? because he looks like he’s wearing clothes from both.
Also he’s got what looks to be a pistol used back then and a tomahawk. So are we looking at a hybrid here?

    • @Kurai Warrior:

Well, since he is related to Desmond, he has to have some European/American in him.

My guess is he had a European father, who was an assassin, and a Native American Mother, who may or may not have been an assassin.

Yeah that makes sense. That’s pretty cool.
