Chase down Jack the Ripper.

F.3.A.R. and Fracture developer Day 1 Studios was once at work on a Batman game based off the one-shot Gotham by Gaslight comic. Well, to pitch, at least.

The game was never greenlit. It was intended for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, sometime between 2009 and 2010, and saw Batman track down Jack the Ripper in a foggy 19th century open-world. He had the ability to see in the dark. THQ was meant to be the publisher.

Here’s a video of the canceled project, courtesy of a Siliconera source:

Arkham city is more fantastic. But, F3ar is pretty amazingly detailed and I even liked fracture, had they squeezed a trophy patch in….. and I had just assumed Monolith was behind F3ar like FEAR2 so anyway, WB did the right thing.
