Borderlands 2 will launch worldwide for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on September 18, 2K Games has announced.
Developed by Gearbox Software, the first-person role-playing sequel features new characters, skills, environments, missions, enemies, and equipment. The plot sees players enter the world of Pandora yet again, this time to take out the notorious Handsome Jack and his corrupt Hyperion Corporation. Gamers will be able to play together locally via split-screen, and online via drop-in, drop-out co-op.
Consumers who pre-order the game at participating retailers will receive access to the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, which gives them access to three unique pieces of download content:
- Gearbox Gun Pack: a collection of unique guns to help players begin their journey on Pandora.
- Golden Key: an in-game item used to unlock a rare item in the mysterious Golden Sanctuary Loot Chest.
- Vault Hunter’s Relic: an in-game item that boosts players gear-hunting fortune while playing solo or teaming up with friends.
