The latest issue of Dengeki revealed Gust‘s first PlayStation Vita title, Surge Concerto: Ciel no Surge ~Ushinawareta Hoshi e Sasagu Shi~. This morning, a Sokuho@Hokanko summary provides full details.
The game stars a young girl named Ionasol, or Ion for short, who is suffering from memory loss. Players will interact with Ion by using the touch screen to select commands. For example, when Ion is in the kitchen, players can select commands like “cook” or “create a salad dish.” When she’s not in the kitchen, players can select commands like “do something together,” “go to dream world” or even “go to bed together.” When in dream world, you may see Ion’s forgotten memories.
Surge Concerto is a new franchise planned to span multiple platforms. The series’ world is called La Ciel, a planet where song magic controls a threatening sun. Ciel no Surge, the first in the series, is set on a floating city called “Coron.” The game, itself, is described as a “communication game,” though its genre is listed as ETC in the magazine. It takes place over the course of three years.
Other features in Ciel no Surge include a barcode scan function, which will allow players to connect to “the world beyond.” A certain barcode can be found hidden somewhere in the game’s early teaser images (hint). It’s listed as “online-only,” however, what that means and how it’s utilized has not yet been detailed.
Surge Concerto: Ciel no Surge ~Ushinawareta Hoshi e Sasagu Shi~ will be released for PlayStation Vita in Japan on April 26.
