Konami and tri-Ace held a demo event for Beyond the Labyrinth this past weekend. A Hachimaki summary covering tweets from the event provides new details.
The game has five difficulties: normal, hard, super hard, ultra hard, and hyper hard. Difficulty can be changed at any time during gameplay, though your end of game record will only show the lowest difficulty.
The B button can be used to fast forward through event scenes.
You’ll meet the girl we’ve seen in all the screenshots at the very beginning of the game in an unexpected way.
Photoshop (import PSDs, perhaps?) can be used in costume customization for the girl character. Players will be able to share their customizations online, though we’re not sure if it’s something you can do in game, or if it follows the 3D Dot Game Heroes route, where players extract and upload the files on PC. Still on the subject of customization, the girl’s panty color can be customized.
HP is fully recovered at save ppints, as well as at certain other points on the field. After a battle, some stats are carried over to the next. During battle, party members will have conversation, which is recorded onto a log.
The game is about forty hours long, according to this tweet.
