Better believe it! THQ and Obsidian Entertainment are teaming up to develop the first-ever role-playing game based on South Park with South Park: The Game, the January 2012 issue of Game Informer’s cover story.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of the hit Comedy Central show, are penning the script, performing the dialogue, and overseeing the game’s development.
Game Informer describes the game as “a full-scale RPG for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3,” rather than “the cash-in Acclaim titles from over a decade ago.” Players will enter South Park as the new kid, make friends, and defend the town from “a wide range of threats.”
First details on the game can be found in the January issue, which will begin arriving in subscribers’ mailboxes throughout next week.
South Park: The Game is due in 2012.
Thanks, Game Informer.
