Following last week’s “Battle for Valhalla” trailer, which highlights the battle between Lightning and Caius, Square put out new screenshots further detailing the purple-haired antagonist.
Here’s his official description:
A mysterious man with an ominous presence clashes with Lightning, and later Noel and Serah.
Caius makes for an intimidating sight as he bears down upon his enemies, brandishing his massive blade with ease.
His icy exterior makes it impossible for others to read him, let alone approach him.
Also in the screenshots are a look at side quests, which allow us access to fragments. We can trade fragments for special skills, which promise to “enhance gameplay in a unique manner.”
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is due for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 31, 2012.
