PlayStation 3 is now available for 16.7 percent cheaper. Closing off their Gamescom press conference, Sony Computer Entertainment announced a permanent worldwide price drop for the high-definition console.
Effective immediately, the 160 GB and 320 GB PlayStation 3 models are now available for $249 and $299, respectively. Additionally, a limited edition inFAMOUS 2 PlayStation 3 bundle is now available for $299; it includes a 320 GB PlayStation 3, a copy of inFAMOUS 2 and a 30-day membership to PlayStation Plus.
In Europe and Japan, the price has dropped to 249 euros / 299 euros and 24,980 yen / 29,980 yen, respectively, for the 160 GB / 320 GB units.
If you’ve yet to dive into the world of high-definition PlayStation, there hasn’t been a better time.
