Rage will look the same across all three platforms, Bethesda’s said. Following recent internet buzz concerning the PlayStation 3 version of Rage being inferior due to Blu-ray’s slower loading speed, Destructoid contacted Bethesda for comment.
“We also had Rage running on PS3 in the press room [at QuakeCon] for folks to do their previews,” replied Bethesda Softworks vice president Pete Hines. “We are very pleased with the PS3 version of Rae. One of the cornerstones of the new idTech5 technology is that all assets are identical across all platforms. The experience that players have will be the same on all three platforms.”
Rage launches for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 4, 2011. We’ll see how Bethesda’s statement holds up come release.
