Namco Bandai countdown site is Digimon for PSP [Update]

Namco Bandai’s mystery countdown site, launched this Monday, is counting down to a new Digimon game for PSP, according to an early leak from next week’s issue of V Jump.

Artwork featured in the magazine depicts a residential area in Tokyo. The game is listed as an RPG. Its name is a working title, currently known only as Digimon. Suzuhito Yasuda, character designer for Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, is doing character design on the Digimon title.

Update 11:12pm: The game is called Digimon World Re: Digitize, according to one Japanese blogger. It’s a role-playing game starring a 14 year-old boy and his partner Digimon, Agumon. It takes place in both the Digital World and Real World, features fully animated battles.

It will launch on PSP in 2012.
