Doublesix, the creators of Burn Zombie Burn, are taking the zombie path once again. The developer today announced the development of a new zombie title, All Zombies Must Die.
The story sees four unlikely teammates — a gamer, a girl, a mad scientist, and an alien — going head to head against a world of 6 billion zombies. It’s set in the town of Deadhill, where players will utilize a variety of weaponry to complete quests and, more importantly, kill zombies. It features both action and role-playing game elements, including: character leveling, weapon crafting, and “numerous” quests. As players progress, they will unlock new weapons, characters, arenas, and character / weapon customization options.
All Zombies Must Die features improvised weaponry, assembled from items picked up by the player. The “Magma Storm Assault Rifle,” “Odin’s Toothpick Katana,” and “Dragon’s Breath Shotgun” are a few examples. Zombies can be “shot, slashed, blasted, blown up, electrocute, torched, irradiated, and zapped” in “horrifying and hilarious” ways.
“After the success of Burn Zombie Burn, we’ve been looking forward to dishing up a new serving of undead craziness but this is no straight sequel,” said Jim Mummery, creative director at Doublesix. “All Zombies Must Die! has its own unique ingredients with weapons-based arena combat, weapon crafting, character development, a whole lot of questing and much much more – all mixed in with a huge portion of zombie action.“
All Zombies Must Die! will launch on PlayStation Network and Steam this fall. An Xbox LIVE Arcade version is in development, but a date has not been announced.
