The latest issue of Jump has a proper reveal for the Shiva summon in Final Fantasy Type-0.
When summoned, Shiva slides around the battle field and potentially freezes enemies with ice-based attacks. She also has close-range attacks, and you can make her perform combos if your button presses are done right.
The magazine also reveals details on Type-0‘s Phantoma system. Every enemy has a Phantoma which you can ‘suck up’ after they’re defeated. It’s used to power up your character’s magic. There are different types of Phantoma, indicated by color; different types of development require different types of Phantoma.
Final Fantasy Type-0 is out for PSP on October 13, 2011 in Japan. A western release has not been announced.
