THQ planning “big” Gamescom announcement
THQ has a major reveal planned for Gamescom this August. Speaking to Eurogamer, core games VP Danny Bilson promised a “big announcement” for the Colone-based games expo.
“I promise a big announcement at Gamescom,” he said. “It’s unannounced, a new announcement.”
Bilson wouldn’t reveal details, but he offered to share a clue.
“I can say that crowd, those hundreds of thousands of people, in that space at that time, this one’s built to announce at that place. I’ll say that. That’s my clue.”
Eurogamer reckons its either Dawn of War 3, which Bilson confirmed was in pre-production last year, or Homeworld 3.
THQ has a lineup of announcements to be made this year, Bilson told Eurogamer, including the reveal of Turtle Rock’s new first-person shooter, which THQ confirmed last month. At the Tokyo Game Show in September, the first gameplay footage of Valhalla Studios’ Devil’s Third will be unveiled.
“We’ve got announcements coming,” Bilson continued. “There’s a few more coming this calendar year tied to different shows and events.”
