Konami has released a new set of screenshots for its eight mainline Silent Hill game, Silent Hill: Downpour.
In development at Vatra Games for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Downpour sees prison escapee Murphy Pendleton enter the town of Silent Hill after his prison transfer bus is steered into a “freak accident.” The game promises to expand on the exploration theme of the series, involving “psychological torture, ambient story, horrific enemies, and self-evaluative questions of despair.” Running on the Unreal Engine 3, it offers free-roaming, “deep exploration,” side-quests, special items, bonus content, and an “ever-changing game world including day and night ‘Normal’ world and ‘Otherworld’ world.”
It’s out in October.
