Papo & Yo announced for PlayStation Network
Puzzle-platforming is about to get a lot more pink. Minority Inc, in partnership with Sony’s Pub Fund, has announced Papo & Yo, an upcoming PlayStation Network puzzle-platforming adventure title about a young boy on a mission to save his monster pal.
Quico, the boy, and Monster, the monster, are best friends. Yet, Monster’s addiction to poisonous frogs signals danger for Quico. When Monster scarfs down a frog, he’s colored in violent rage. Quico loves Monster and wants to save him from these addiction-induced outbursts.
Gameplay involves the pair solving puzzles and adventuring a “magical, surrealist world.” Monsters emotions, both good and bad, play a key role in finding a cure for his addiction. Depending on his state of mind, he may choose not to help you solve a puzzle until he’s eaten or napped. If a poisonous frog gets near his reach, Quico is in for trouble.
A world of Quico’s imagination, Monster’s emotions affect the state of the world, as well. When he’s happy and all is well, the world is bright and sunny. When Monster’s enraged due to the intake of frog, the world is dark and ominous.
Papo & Yo is out exclusively for PlayStation Network in early 2012.
