The developer behind X-Blades announced its next action / hack and slash title at E3. To be published by Konami in early 2012, Blades of Time will launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The game sees the gunsword-wielding treasure hunter Ayumi trapped on a possessed island. She will discover its secrets, special powers, and abilities that she can gain for herself in trying to break free of the island’s grasp. The game features “richly entertaining characters,” “lushly designed environments,” a “deep combat system” with over 40 sets of skills, and a time rewind system that allows Ayumi to turn back time, producing a clone of herself to help solve puzzles, take on enemies, and more. Players can take the game online, fighting side-by-side in a co-op campaign or battling against each other in player-versus-player.
