Publisher Deep Silver has announced a Dead Island Special Edition today, exclusively for customers who pre-order at GameStop. It includes the upcoming ‘Bloodbath Arena’ DLC, which offers new single and multiplayer challenges in four different arenas, and a new exclusive weapon: the brain wave bomb. Available shortly after launch, ‘Bloodbath Arena’ will run you $10, without the Special Edition, of course.
Also in the special edition is an exclusive piece of cover art and the blueprints for the in-game “Ripper” weapon, which is “a destructive combination of a baseball bat and a buzz saw that leaves attacking zombies battered and bleeding to death.” You’ll be able to craft your very own real life version in case of, you know, zombie attacks.
If you’ve already pre-ordered at GameStop, you’ll receive an automatic upgrade to the special edition. It’ll go for the same price as the standard. Dead Island is out this fall for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
