Remedy: ‘More Alan Wake is coming’
More Alan Wake is on the way. Remedy head of franchise development Oskari Hakkinen has confirmed that more is coming, but said that it will not be Alan Wake 2 or DLC for the original.
“Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming! But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. And neither will it be DLC,” Remedy’s head of franchise development Oskari Hakkinen told Eurogamer.
“The rest we’re saving for our official announcement when we’ll actually show you.”
According to Hakkinen, “a slice” of the Remedy team has been working on this new Alan Wake for the “last months.”
“It’s something that’ll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this installment will also give an opportunity for players who aren’t familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board,” he said.
“We can’t wait to show you more, bear with us. Release dates, platforms and pricing are unconfirmed as of yet, but Fall 2011 is probably a good guess.”
Regarding yesterday’s Alan Wake 2 resume leak, Hakkinen said that it was unfortunate the news got out early, as they “weren’t expecting to be talking about this yet.”
He added: “On the flip side, it’s great to see that there is interest out there – it really would seem Alan Wake is very close to the hearts of the fans out there, and to ours too.
“It is of course a shame that this news leaked before our official announcements went out which will include the visuals and information to support it.”
Stay tuned. With a fall release, an official announcement shouldn’t be too far off.
