The latest issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine has brought to light new details on Ninja Gaiden III.
The information released to the net is light, but certainly exciting. Ninja Gaiden III will run at 60 frames per second and bring back the blood missing in the toned down Ninja Gaiden Sigma II. And, like the blood, difficulty won’t be toned down for the casual player.
Multiplayer comes in two flavors — cooperative and competitive. At least one mode will support up to 8 players, which we assume is competitive.
In story, the store that past Ninja Gaiden games had you buying upgrades for is no more. Instead, your weapons will upgrade over time. The plot has a greater emphasis on Ryu’s story, and currently, the team has not planned any other playable characters.
In one of the preview’s screenshots, Ryu is seen slicing up foot soldiers on the streets of a dark, rainy city. Another has him climbing a wall, using a dagger as grip. A third shows Ryu running from a giant spider mechanoid.
An extra tidbit, the game ‘may’ feature PlayStation Move support.
Ninja Gaiden III is out next year. It will be playable at this year’s E3. You can bet your ninja blood we’ll have our go at it.
Thanks, NeoGAF.
