THQ’s lifted the lid on its oft-teased Metro 2033 sequel, Metro: Last Light. Announced in London, the sequel will launch in 2012 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Despite the name, Metro: Last Light actually takes place in 2034. Set in Moscow’s underground subway system, the game takes place in a world where those born into it never see the light of day, as a nuclear war has nearly eliminated all of mankind. Last Light pits protagonist Artyom in a civil war over a doomsday weapon that could place a final toll on the apocalypse. He’s described as the “last light” for humans.
Last Light developer 4A Games promises an interesting and engaging story for the sequel. Check out the debut screenshots at the gallery. The debut trailer can be seen below.
