The story of Amy
Amy, Lexis Numerique’s upcoming PlayStation Network exclusive horror survival title, is all about co-operation with the younger half. Headed up by game industry veteran Paul Cuisset, it sounds to be one of the biggest PlayStation Network titles to date.
Set in December 2034, the effects of global warming has plagued the world of Amy with the global spread of diseases and natural disasters. The small town of Silver City, located in Midwest USA, is hit with an unidentified comet-like object from outer space. Waking up from the hit as Lana, the world of Amy becomes hell on Earth. The town residents, infected by a mysterious virus, have become part of a wild horde. Lana shows signs of the virus, as well, but refuses to let it take over her. Now, she’s running away from this nightmare. Amy, an autistic eight-year-old girl with “strange powers”, will “force [Lana] to make choices that will change both their lives.” The pair will have to survive “infected humans, grisly creatures, military Special Forces and even other survivors.” We’re not told how the pair first come into contact, though Amy doesn’t trust Lana at first. Lana must earn her assurance, even if it means putting her own life on the line.
Lana and Amy must approach their enemies tactfully, as they’re usually much weaker than their foes. As Lana is slowly infected by the virus, she will mutate and die if not protected by Amy’s special powers. However, when signs of Lana’s infection are clearer, she can move amongst enemies without being attacked.
Amy is currently in development at VectorCell studios. It promises a “level of detailed rendering, modeling and motion capture animation” typically “expected only from fully boxed product.” It’ll launch on PlayStation Network in June.
