In the game’s first developer diary, released today, Shadows of the Damned executive director Goichi Suda and creative producer Shinji Mikami discuss the gameplay and story of the upcoming Grasshopper-developed third-person shooter.
They describe gameplay as “close to Resident Evil 4, system-wise”, but point out differences involving the “concept of darkness and light”. For example, protagonist Garcia Hotspur needs light to survive; as he’s in the darkness he’ll continually lose health. To light the area, players need to shoot a “Light Point”.
The whole developer diary is actually a bit silly — the narrator dubbing over Suda and Mikami’s speech purposely overdoes the voice.
