With Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City being such a departure from the franchise’s horror roots, one wonders of the next Resident Evil entry’s fate. According to Capcom‘s Masachika Kawata, it will be “totally different”.
”The series will see a complete renovation with the next entry on every level,” Kawata told MarcaPlayer (via Rely On Horror). “But we can’t forget about all the previous entries that have led to the creation of many possibilities for the franchise. I can’t say if we’re going to make it (Resident Evil 6) survival horror or a shooter, but I can say that it’ll be totally different [than Operation Raccoon City].”
For fans looking for a survival horror experience, be sure to check out Resident Evil: Revelations, coming soon to Nintendo 3DS. It’s been receiving quite the praise, lately.
