Meet Uncharted 3 antagonist Katherine Marlowe
At the Game Developers Conference last week, Sony and Naughty Dog unveiled the central antagonist of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception during an invite-only press event. Her name: Katherine Marlowe.
Marlowe is not somebody you want to get in the way of. She’s the leader of a secret society whose roots date back over four hundred years. She and Drake have a rivalry involving Sir Francis Drake’s ring — both claim that the jewelry is rightfully theirs. It is also the key to an ancient mystery.
Unlike Drake’s prior antagonists, Marlowe uses both physical and psychological tactics to get what she desires. She also gets help from her team of highly-trained agents, whom are members of her secret society.

The game was also shown for the first time running in stereoscopic 3D during the event. According to Naughty Dog, 3D “gives you some added benefits to gameplay as well, such as improved aiming around corners and an excellent read on depth for all traversal sequences, no matter how tricky.” Plenty of the bigger publications put up their impressions of the Uncharted 3‘s 3D, this morning.
