Update 03/31/11: Irem has officially announced Bumpy Trot 2‘s cancellation.
Original 03/30/11 at 6:57 a.m.: Irem has cancelled production on Bumpy Trot 2 (Steambot Chronicles 2 in the west), according to the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu, which lists the sequel as “discontinued.”
The role-playing game, fully titled Poncotsu Roman Daikatsugeki Bumpy Trot 2, was first announced at Tokyo Game Show 2006. Originally in development for PS2, Irem shifted focus to PlayStation 3 and debuted a trailer of the title running on the then-new hardware at Tokyo Game Show 2007.
Last March, Irem told us it was “still developing Bumpy Trot 2.”
The official website for Bumpy Trot 2 hasn’t been updated in years.
See the only trailer of the game, never released in direct-feed, below.
Thanks, Hachima Kikou.
