Recoil announces Rochard for PSN
Puzzle platformers are all the rage these days, so why not announce one more? Recoil Games, developers of the gone-silent Earth No More, have announced a new PlayStation Network-exclusive puzzler all about manipulating gravity.
Rochard, as it’s titled, follows the story of astro-miner John Rochard. He and his mining team end up discovering an ancient structure hidden deep within an asteroid that proves that we’re not alone on this planet. Suddenly, his team goes missing and John, now stranded on the asteroid and being attacked by space pirates, must save them.
“We have been working on Rochard for some time now and we’re very excited to start showing this clever, funny, unique adventure title to PlayStation Network gamers,” said Burt Kane, Creative Director at Recoil Games Ltd. “The hero, John Rochard, is no marine or super soldier, but just a tough, ordinary miner with a mustache, placed in an extraordinary situation. The combination of its humorous style, explorative space antics and the player’s ability to manipulate gravity will really make Rochard stand out.”
The main tool of Rochard is the upgradable G-Lifter, which at first allows John to lift heavy objects. Within time, he’ll learn how to “swing, jump and propel” using the G-Lifter. Throughout the levels, players will be tasked with the challenge of manipulating gravity in order to complete the stage.
The game’s out this Spring on PlayStation Network. Sony Online Entertainment is publishing. Check out the first set of screenshots at the gallery.
