Ubisoft‘s announced a new entry in the Call of Juarez franchise today, this time set in modern day. Call of Juarez: The Cartel promises to envelop players into an “immersive and mature” story that “brings the best elements of the Wild West” to its new modern setting; a setting which will take players from Los Angeles, California to Juarez, Mexico.
“Call of Juarez: The Cartel is an action-packed shooter game with a strong story, interesting characters and a wide variety of gameplay options,” said Adam Novickas, director of marketing at Ubisoft. “The game will bring the best elements of the Wild West into modern times with a very gritty and relevant plot.”
EGM has the exclusive reveal of the game. The Call of Juarez issue should hit newsstands on February 9, 2011. The game, in development at Techland, is out this summer for “next-gen consoles and Windows PC“.
