Infinity Ward is hard at work at development on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, sources have told the L.A. Times. But not without help. According to their knowledge, the California-based Sledgehammer Games and Wisconsin-based Raven Software is aiding Infinity Ward in its creation.
Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer are equally crafting the game’s single-player component, their source has said. Raven Software, on the other hand, are working on its online multiplayer.
Slegehammer is publicly known to be developing their own Call of Duty game, which the source claims is a spin-off. Unfortunately, due to their aiding Infinity Ward, production on Sledgehammer’s game has been delayed.
Last month, it was rumored that a Modern Warfare prequel was in development at Infinity Ward. If Sledgehammer is really working on a Call of Duty spin-off, then perhaps this prequel is actually in development at their studio.
