PlayStation 3 firmware v3.56 released

A new firmware update has been released for PlayStation 3 over PlayStation Network tonight. Don’t get your hopes up for new features, though; it’s strictly a security patch.

Websites around the net are reporting that the firmware contains a new .SELF with an unknown KEY, prohibiting the use of any sort of homebrew. If you’re not into home-developed content, install it. If you are, don’t. Not much more to see here.
