Uncharted 3: new details and Chateau media released
Sony’s released a new media blast on Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, this morning. In it, we see direct-feed high-definition gameplay of the Chateau level in France, screenshots of the level, and much more details regarding the game’s story and feature-set.
Uncharted 3 puts protagonist Nathan Drake and mentor Victor Sullivan on a search for a lost 16th-century treasure. However, in finding this treasure, Drake finds himself in a web of deceit, pitting him against a shadowy organization and its ruthless leader. Drake and Sully will travel across Europe and into the Middle East, following the trail of clues leading to a mythical lost city, often labeled “the Atlantis of the Sands,” buried in the heart of Arabia’s Rub’ al-Khali desert. Before their journey ends, however, Drake and Sully will find themselves in a desperate fight for survival, forcing them to confront their darkest fears.
As far as new features go, Uncharted 3 boasts plenty. We’ll learn more of Drake and Sully’s friendship and how they became to be friends in the first place. Players will explore locations from around the world, including the chateau in France (from today’s media) and the Rub’ al-Khali desert; the desert will be true to its representation, with distant mirages, heat distortion effects and moving sand affecting Drake. Players will have a disposal of new moves up their sleeves, including hand-to-hand combat on more than one enemy at a time, more stealth maneuvers, and deeper gunplay than ever before.
Competitive and co-op multiplayer will also make a return, featuring “brand new experiences and massively expanded feature sets.” It promises to bring the cinematic elements of the single-player campaign into the multiplayer mode.
