First footage of Mass Effect 2 on PS3
A new preview of Mass Effect 2 for PlayStation 3 from IGN reveals the first footage of the game running on the Sony console.
The footage shows that the game runs crisp on PlayStation 3 and makes a side-by-side comparison with the Xbox 360 version during one of the cutscene. Right off of the bat, you can see a huge difference between the two. BioWare‘s made a great improvement on the visuals of the PlayStation 3 version, making Jacob look much more life-like than he did on Xbox 360.
While the game looks better during cutscenes in the PlayStation 3 version, IGN says that the gameplay “isn’t leaps and bounds better than the Xbox 360.” Meaning, it’s better, but not as significantly better as the cutscenes.
Also in the footage, we get a first look at the interactive story comic that players will use to live out the events of the first Mass Effect. It’ll allow players to make all the major story decisions they’d make playing the first game, and even decide who they’d like to ‘get busy’ with, as well.
