The future might not be so grim for Activision‘s recently shut down Bizarre Studios. According to an anonymous source from within the Liverpool-based studio, “multiple parties”, including Microsoft, are interested in buying the developer.
Activision apparently had a second meeting discussing the studio staff this afternoon.
“That meeting really lifted the mood here, I think, because we’ve been told that there’s multiple parties interested in buying us,” the anonymous source told Develop.
“We are still on consultation for ninety days,” he added, “but things look much better than they did last night or this morning.”
“Things here are changing at such a quick pace.”
While the source quoted above refused to name parties interested in buying, a different source at the studio revealed Microsoft is one of the batch.
“Microsoft aren’t stupid,” he said, “they know we’re talented and have spoken to Activision about us.”
We’ll see how everything unfolds.
