Dungeon Defenders, Trendy Entertainment‘s downloadable action–RPG, has been delayed this morning. The developer’s announced that due to “certain parties requiring platform launch windows and requirements to do a simultaneous launch,” the game’s been pushed from its original Fall 2010 release date to January 2011.
The wait isn’t all bad, however.
The game is finished, and Trendy’s already completed two extra maps, a few item packs and new enemies originally planned to be released as downloadable content. However, thanks to the delay, they’ll now be included in the initial $9.99 purchase of the game.
If that doesn’t sound good enough, Trendy will also release the first month of downloadable content free “for all platforms that permit it,” which they say will include at least one new level and hero class.
I think Trendy’s done well in justifying the delay, don’t you? If anything, the iOS and Android versions of the game will still be out in December, in case anybody’s interested. If not, I’m sure you can hold off until January.
