Tango Gameworks, the development studio founded by Resident Evil creator and Vanquish (pictured) director, Shinji Mikami, has been acquired by ZeniMax Media, the company’s announced today.
Mikami will continue to serve as the creative lead for all development at Tango, who’s philosophy is to create AAA multiplatform games. The development team consists of talents hailed from the likes of Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and Final Fantasy.
“It’s refreshing to find a publisher who understands, trusts, and supports the development of blockbuster games and works to make it a collaborative effort,” said Mikami. “The library of AAA franchise titles ZeniMax owns speaks for itself. We are very excited to be joining ZeniMax and working with a company that is dedicated to creating the best games ever made.”
Tango joins ZeniMax’s small selection of quality studios, including: Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, and Arkane Studios.
