Grasshopper Manufacture‘s opened their doors to two respected developers today. The Goichi Suda-lead company’s announced that former Marvelous Entertainment producers Yasuhiro Wada and Yoshiro Kimura have joined the Grasshopper team.
Wada is known as one of the biggest influences on the Harvest Moon series while Kimura is known for his recent work as producer on Little King Story. Kimura has also worked on games such as Romancing SaGa and moon.
The two have been given important titles in the company, with Kimura being the new CCO (Chief Creative Officer) and Wada the new COO (Chief Operation Officer). Goichi Suda, of course, is the company’s CEO (Chief Executive Officer). The three actually already worked together on No More Heroes when it was in development for Wii.
Suda hopes that with these two new talents on board, Grasshopper’s corporate structure will strengthen. The firm didn’t release a single game in 2009, which he notes could be damaging to the brand. However, now he’s optimistic that their development strength will only increase.
“Last year was a year for preparation. We were able to at last announce Shadows of the Damned and codename D. We’re currently working away at many other things that will surprise you,” Suda said. “These will blossom next year and the year after. Because of this new strength of the organization, I believe that we will be able to show and realize these new ideas.”
Thanks, Andriasang.
