Uncharted 3 listed, debunked and reupped
Some Uncharted 3 rumors today. Earlier this morning, it was pointed out across several forums and websites that Amazon France had gotten up a listing for Uncharted 3, using a tentative box art with the title Uncharted 3: World of Deceit.
The title was quickly debunked, however, as it was discovered that the artwork on the box is none other than that of Albert Ng, who posted the concept art on his blog claiming that it was done for an “architecture class”.
However, for PlayStation LifeStyle, Albert’s claim wasn’t enough. Something was odd; how does artwork for an architecture class appear as tentative box art for an unannounced title on Amazon? After some digging, the site discovered Albert’s LinkedIn profile, which lists him as a concept artist for Tyler West Studio.
Tyler West Studio, according to their website, “provid[es] [studios] concept art that lays the groundwork for successful production” and has “contributed to more than 15 AAA video games”. Their client list includes a broad range of top tier developers like Ubisoft, EA, Eat Sleep Play, Activision, Microsoft, Infinity Ward, and hey look — Sony Computer Entertainment.
There’s a lot of evidence to support Amazon’s Uncharted 3: World of Deceit listing to be true, as well as the artwork, but as always, it could just as well be false. We won’t be certain on anything until we hear an official announcement. For now, check out Albert Ng’s artwork below.
