Hey, look! More Hitman 5 rumors! Just when you thought we’d had enough. This time, it’s coming from some random user (keep reading) on a GameReactor blog; he goes by the name of Mr. Clint.
The blogger’s listed several “facts” about the game, all in bullets. We’ve translated and re-listed them below:
- Hitman 5 is a reboot of the franchise.
- Agent 47 now has a five-o-clock shadow.
- It’ll have a strong focus on story.
- Agent 47’s assignments are open missions from previous games.
- Agent 47’s assignments are focused on linearity, firefights, taking cover, etc.
- It is being developed in parallel to the new HITMAN movie.
- Agent 47 isn’t the only playable agent.
- David Bateson has returned for the voice of Agent 47 — which would prove false IO Interactive‘s previous statement.
What makes this credible at all, you ask? The blogger provided what looks like a poster/magazine scan of the supposed HITMAN reboot. In it, Agent 47 flaunts his five-o-clock shadow. Have a look-see:
Finally, Mr. Clint claims he got this knowledge from a freelancer friend of his who works over at Eurogamer Denmark.
We’ll send an e-mail over to publisher Square-Enix, but don’t expect a response until Monday; unfortunately, the gaming industry’s closed on the weekend.
Thanks, GameBlurb.
Update: Square-Enix has yet to respond (weekend, remember), but thanks to NeoGAF’s Squ, we can now be pretty sure that the image is fake. It seems to be an edit off of this image (pay close attention to details on the face):
Rest easy that Agent 47 isn’t becoming a Calvin Klein model anytime soon.
