Tecmo Koei‘s used the Tokyo Game Show as a time to announce the development of Ninja Gaiden III today. The game was revealed behind closed doors in Tokyo earlier today during a private Tecmo Koei presentation with the media. It’s so early into development that the publisher only provided the press with a single piece of artwork for the game.
In said artwork (high-res here), we see a bloody Ryo Hayabusa pulling off his mask. Tecmo hinted at the artwork representing Ryo’s human side, as well as the fact that we may learn more about him as a character.
Let’s analyze the image a bit. In his left eye, there appears to be the reflection of a person. Under his right eye, there is a peculiar mark of blood different from the rest of the blood on his face. It stands out, sort of. Wonder what they could mean?
Tecmo didn’t announce a release date or even share the game’s platform, but they said to expect more on Ninja Gaiden III early next year.
