Ignition Entertainment has announced that it’s shut down its internal London studio, and with it internal development on WarDevil. However, the long-in-development hack-and-slash title may still have a chance at a release. Ignition’s said that the game, after recently reaching a six-month proof of concept stage, could get outsourced to an external developer.
“This week saw the pre-scheduled completion of a six-month proof of concept project on the WarDevil / Project Kane titles internally, which the board and studio management are currently evaluating as to whether the required quality will be achieved by completing internally or with an external partner,” Hassan Sadiq, group chairman at Ignition Entertainment, told GamesIndustry.biz.
In June, Ignition Business Development Director, Shane Bettenhausen, said that WarDevil would “hopefully” receive a proper reveal “by the end of the year”. With today’s news in mind, that may no longer be the case.
