Yakuza Next followup coming September 9

After four rounds of bi-weekly character updates and an image of Kamurocho in peril, it looks like Sega‘s finally preparing to lift the lid on PlayStation 3‘s next Yakuza game. The game’s teaser site is promising a followup scheduled for September 9, just seven days before the start of the Tokyo Game Show.

Visiting the teaser site currently shows the above artwork followed by the destroyed image of Kamurocho we saw late last night. On the bottom of the site is the date September 9 – where it promises more info.

Stay tuned until then. Yakuza 4, which came out this March in Japan, is currently scheduled for March 2011 in the US and Europe. While Japan is likely to get this new Yakuza next year, we’ll probably see it sometime in 2012.
