Tanaka: Additional Final Fantasy XIV races “very possible”

Final Fantasy XIV producer HIromichi Tanaka has said that additional races post-launch for the upcoming MMORPG is “very possible to add” to the game. He goes as far to say that the development already had other races planned, but had to let them go due to time constraints.

“From a game design point of view, we do have other races already prepared, but during the development process we had to put priority elsewhere and due to the schedule we had to give up,” Tanaka told Final Fantasy Union during E3 two weeks ago.

“In the future, if we have enough man power, it is very possible to add it to the game.”

Considering MMO’s are constantly getting new patches to keep players attracted, I think they’re bound to add new classes.

Final Fantasy XIV launches September 30 on PC and in March 2011 on PS3.
