2K Games has announced the first two pieces of downloadable content for Mafia II today. The first piece, titled ‘The Betrayal of Jimmy’, will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3. The second, ‘Jimmy’s Vendetta’, will be available across the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
‘The Betrayal of Jimmy’ will be available the day the game releases. Those who buy a new copy of the game can access the downloadable content free via a voucher code included in the game. If not, you can purchase it on the PlayStation Store for around $8. The content has players in the shoes of a mercenary named Jimmy. There are dozens of new arcade-style, city-based missions and more to do throughout Empire Bay. Players can get points and rack up high-scores for the stunts they accomplish which will immediately be posted on a new leaderboard system.
‘Jimmy’s Vendetta’ has players in Jimmy’s shoes once again. This time, Jimmy’s helping clean up the messes of others. There are new city-based missions to play and more reasons to go back to Empire Bay. Like ‘The Betrayal of Jimmy’, leaderboards will be present, as well. It’ll be available shortly after the game launches.
Mafia II launches on August 28, 2010 for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. You can check out three screenshots of ‘The Betrayal of Jimmy’ at the gallery.
