Square Enix has announced today that Del Rey Books will publish a novel based on the Deus Ex series as a tie in to the upcoming Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Deus Ex: Icarus Effect, written by James Swallow, will be released in 2011 in North America and Europe.
Deus Ex: Icarus Effect takes place in the not-too-distant future where technology has advanced so far that it can push the limits of human potential. Of course, with that sort of technology comes conspiracy and chaos. Secret powers coming together to take control are coming into play and when heroes Anna Kelso (agent for the Secret Service) and Ben Saxon (special-ops soldier) find out the truth, they must make the choice to save the world from an age of darkness.
“We’re really pleased to be able to announce this new Deus Ex novel with Del Rey books,” said Andre Vu, Marketing Game Manager, Deus Ex. “The novel is set in the Deus Ex universe and there will be characters and story elements in it, that will overlap with our next videogame Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which we hope fans will be very excited about.”
