The First Templar announced for Xbox 360, PC
If Assassin’s Creed‘s Templar Knights didn’t satisfy your crave for controversy, then perhaps Kalypso’s Templar outing will. The firm has announced The First Templar today, an Xbox 360 and PC cooperative action–adventure title set to place players in a “grand conspiracy” as they discover the secret of the Holy Grail.
The game, in development at Haemimont Games, takes place in the late thirteenth century where corruption spreads throughout the Church. There are two protagonists – a French Templar and a noble lady proclaimed a heretic. Players will go up against “powerful opponents at every turn, in the face of the Saracen, King Philip IV of France and the Inquisition.”
Players can play solo or cooperatively. When playing solo, players can switch between the two characters while the opposite is controlled by AI. Drop-in/drop-out co-op sees a player and friend playing side-by-side. The First Templar promises players fast-paced gameplay and the ability to develop their skills in an RPG-inspired fashion.
The game’s out Q1 2011. Check out the first screenshots at the gallery.
