About A Blob is a PlayStation Network game about a blob

DrinkBox Studios, a new studio based in Toronto, has announced their first game today – a monster-movie-inspired PlayStation Network game titled Tales from Space: About a Blob.

If you haven’t guessed, it’s all About A Blob. Specifically, a race of alien blobs that land on an Earth-like planet from space, where naturally the blobs consume everything within their reach. They can’t help it, though. It’s in their nature. They didn’t come to the planet to harm, but of course, humans react with hostility.

The game is a sidescroller where players roll around and interact with the environment “using unique growth and absorption-related control mechanics”. It’ll have a single-player and co-op mode, for double the blob fun.

The game will be at Sony’s E3 booth in Los Angeles next week. I’ll be sure to check it out. For now, have a video, or some screenshots.
