Wada: Final Fantasy XIV to release “this fiscal year”

Other then consider a possible multiplatform release for Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada did have other things to say at today’s Square Enix investors briefing in Tokyo.

When Impress Watch asked if Wada could offer one solid statement about the company’s next big massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Final Fantasy XIV, Wada responded: “We will release it this fiscal year.”

The online Final Fantasy is currently in its alpha stages. It’s been dated for a worldwide 2010 release since it was announced at Sony’s E3 2009 press conference, but as of recently, many have begun to doubt the aforementioned date. Doubt no more.
