Before Nier hit store shelves, it was already said that post-launch downloadable content was in development. Today, Square Enix has announced the first.
Titled ‘World of Recycled Vessel’, the first Nier downloadable content offers new outfits, areas, weapons, and the ability to play as “Young Nier”, aka the Nier seen in Japan’s PS3 exclusive Nier Replicant.
There are fifteen new special stages, new Shades, and more to find in the content. The story of ‘World of Recycled Vessel’ begins as Nier finds a diary of his wife on a bookshelf in his home. Opening the diary’s pages allows Nier to travel to a dreamscape where he can obtain new weapons and new costumes for himself and his companions.
Here’s the full feature list of the downloadable content:
- 15 new areas and stages for players to explore throughout NIER’s main storyline, including new on-rails shooter stages, room challenges and additional surprises
- New configurations for existing areas and towns with original monsters to defeat along the way
- New costumes for Nier, Kaine and Emil to unlock, including Kabuki and Samurai
- New weapons to be unlocked through completion of the new stages
The ‘World of Recycled Vessel’ downloadable content is scheduled to hit PlayStation Network and Xbox L IVE tomorrow, May 11. No price was given. Find two screens of the content at the gallery.
