David Jaffe: “I WISH we were making a new Twisted Metal”
David Jaffe, director of the Twisted Metal and God of War games, has said in a recent Twitter update that he “wishes” he were making a new Twisted Metal, rather than be developing a brand new intellectual property.
“By the way, I WISH we were making a new Twisted Metal,” he said in a Twitter update. “Making game you’ve already worked on is tons easier because your core blueprint (continued) is already there. This new game design stuff though? Man, that is hard… reason I’m so stressed these days!”
Jaffe added: “Although I gotta admit, doing new design/IP stuff IS fun. But days like today you just WISH you already knew the formula that worked!”
He’s also confirmed that his new game will not be at E3, for the second time.
Maybe he’s pulling our legs with this big “wish” – saving a big surprise for E3?
“Sony has not asked us and given it’s 3 weeks away,” he said, “my guess is you are correct: no Eat Sleep Play game at E3.”
What I’m finding hard to comprehend is the whole ‘Twisted Metal: Head On: Extra Twisted Edition for PS2 confirming the PlayStation 3 game back in 2008′ situation. A deciphered message in the game’s extras blatantly read: “Twisted Metal is coming to PSThree.” Jaffe even confirmed it to Kotaku. So did it just disappear or something?
